Enrique pointed out Nunez contributed to Salah’s downfall

Former Liverpool defender Jose Enrique believes the arrival of Darwin Nunez has affected Mohamed Salah‘s performance and has hampered his performances this season.

The Egyptian star has only scored two goals in eight Premier League games this season. Although most recently scoring a hat-trick in the Champions League against Rangers. This season’s overall run of just eight goals in 13 games ufabet is seen as less than the norm.

In Ennique’s view, Nunez’s arrival as a central striker has forced Salah to move wider, which has reduced his efficiency.

“Mo Halah can score a hat-trick to return to his best form,” said Enrique. Wingers, you really used to be a striker. Get close to the center and Salah plays like a striker.”

“But now with Darwin Nunez it has changed a bit. He’s someone who will run into empty space and you have more flanks.”

“For him, confidence is scoring goals. So I’m not sure what he will do against City, it’s interesting because when he plays in the middle. He makes the difference, scores goals, but it’s a big step for sure, Salah has to play in the middle, not the side like he’s playing now.

“After defeating Bournemouth 9-0 in August, Liverpool would only win one of their next three games dropping points to Everton and Napoli. Similarly, sandwiched on either side of these Rangers fixtures where Liverpool scored nine goals and conceded one, they lost 3-2 to Arsenal but the team needs Champions League Mohamed Salah to show up in the Premier League.”
